DC Nonprofit Finds Help for Haitian Students in Rockville

International Action was one of several nonprofit organizations picking up free school supplies at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville on Monday.

Each summer Montgomery County Public Schools distributes thousands of school supplies to parents and local nonprofits. This year, MCPS students and staff collected 16,000 pounds of new and gently used supplies.

Jeffery Sejour, associate director of International Action, was one of several nonprofit organizations at Richard Montgomery High School in Rockville on Monday collecting box loads of free supplies.

Sejour's Washington, DC-based nonprofit has been providing aid to Haiti ever since earthquakes ravaged the region in 2010. He was hoping to send back backpacks and basic school supplies, like pencils, binders and notebook paper.
