Derwood Girl's Wish to Visit Atlantis Fulfilled

Kaylie Bremser and her family received a welcome home party on Feb. 23 in Rockville after the family returned from a trip to the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas courtesy of UnitedHealthcare and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Mid-Atlantic. The 8-year-old from Derwood lives with a congenital heart defect. Rockville-based UnitedHealthcare sponsored Kaylie’s wish as part of a renewed, three-year, $3 million national alliance with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of America and its 62 chapters. UnitedHealth Group, whose employees threw the party for Kaylie, has funded more than 1,250 wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions beginning with its initial three-year, $4.5 million alliance in 2007.
