Police: Bus driver was able to stop before the crash.
A Potomac man was cited in a crash between a car and a school bus on Friday morning that sent four Fallsmead Elementary School students to the hospital, a Rockville City Police Department spokesman said. Ronald Eisler, 80, was cited with failure to control speed to avoid a collision and crossing the center line, said Lt. Eric Over, a city police spokesman. A silver Chevy Cavalier driven by Eisler crashed head-on into the bus, which was stopped on Wootton Parkway at Hurley Avenue, Over said. The school bus driver, who was unhurt, saw the car coming and had come to a complete stop before the crash, Over said. A school bus taking students to Fallsmead Elementary School collided head-on with a car shortly before 9 a.m. on Friday morning at Wootton Parkway and Hurley Avenue, sending four students and the driver of the car to the hospital, a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman said. The students suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital as a precaution, Assistant Chief Scott Graham said. The driver of the car, an adult male, was taken to a local trauma center with serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
