Rockville Woman Who Writes About 'Good Girls' Featured in AOL/PBS Documentary
You don't have to be Gloria Steinem to make a difference for women.
Forty years after the beginning of the Women's Movement in the United States, some of the unsung heroes of the revolution in women's rights are being featured in a documentary film called "Makers: Women Who Make America." Among those featured is a woman from Rockville. Rachel Simmons, co-founder of the Girls' Leadership Institute, graduated in 1992 from the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School in Rockville. She is featured as one of the notable women in the documentary that will air beginning at 8 p.m. today on local PBS stations.
