City Offers Free Help With Tax Prep
Residents making less than $50K can qualify.
Tax day is less than three weeks away. Rockville residents earning less than $50,000 a year are eligible for free help preparing their state and federal tax returns. The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program offers tax preparation appointments from 3 to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays at the City of Rockville's Community Services Division office, at 30 Courthouse Square. Walk-ins will be welcome from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 7 at the Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, 12920 Twinbrook Parkway. To receive free preparation assistance, you must live in Montgomery County and present a W-2 and/or 1099 form showing that you earned less than $50,000 in 2011.
