Rockville City Council Agenda: Charter Review Panel Report, Public Hearings and Ethics Ordinance Discussion

A vote on changes to the city bid process also is on deck.

  The final report by the city’s Charter Review Commission, three public hearings and discussions of proposed changes to the city’s ethics ordinance and the city’s bid process are on the Rockville City Council’s agenda for Monday.  The council also is scheduled to hear an update from the Rockville Chamber of Commerce. The council meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will be broadcast live on Rockville 11. The Heritage Plan sounds great. So many events that took place in Rockville that are not recognized. Civil War battles or skirmishes in front of St. Mary's Church, Edmonston Dr. & the Pike and in front of current Woodmont GC entrance to name a few. Rockville City Council Agenda: Ethics Ordinance Hearing, Citizen Survey and Budget Work

  A hearing on proposed changes to the city’s ethics ordinance, a discussion of the 2012 Citizen Survey and preliminary discussions of the city’s fiscal 2014 budget top the Rockville City Council’s agenda for Monday. The council meets at 7 p.m. at City Hall. The meeting will be broadcast live on Rockville 11. Ride On Forum to Discuss Proposed Bus Route Changes

Changes aim at expanding service to new areas and reducing service on less-used routes.

  Montgomery County will host a public forum tonight in Rockville about proposed changes to the county’s Ride On bus service. The forum will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria on the terrace level of the Executive Office Building, at 101 Monroe St. Reservations for speaking spots closed Sept. 22, but written comments are being accepted through 5 p.m. on Monday. Part 2 of our two-part report on the March 16 public hearing on the city's draft plan for Rockville Pike.

Envision a Rockville Pike with streets that are safe for bicyclists and pedestrians. With bus rapid transit. With housing built around Metro stations. With room for retail to grow up. With room for auto dealerships. With many changes. With few changes. Forty-two people testified during two public hearings held earlier this month.
