Crime Summary: North Bethesda Swindlers Sought, Aspen Hill Armed Robbery Reported

The following incident information was provided by Montgomery County Police. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Police said a person near North Bethesda was swindled out of a substantial amount of money in a fraud scheme reported May 3, 2013 in the 12000 block of Rockville Pike. Police said a male and a female claimed they found some money and offered to split it with the alleged victim. But they asked the person to put up some money in order to prove “trustworthy—then made off with the person’s contribution, police said. A police spokeswoman was unable to disclose how much money was involved. Description: Police said the male was black, between 50 and 60 years old, with a salt-and pepper hair, a mustache and a beard. The woman was a black female between 25 and 35 years old, weighing 130 pounds and was wearing a ponytail, a sleeveless shirt and tan …

Rockville City Police: Robbery Arrest Made, Appliances Stolen From Home

Arrests 1200 block of Clagett Drive—A 26-year-old male was on charges of second-degree assault on April 22 at around 8:30 p.m. 14900 block of Shady Grove Road—A 63-year-old male was arrested for shoplifting on April 24 at 6:30 p.m. A 24-year-old male was arrested April 24 and charged with robbery and 1st and 2nd degree assault in connection with an incident that occurred on March16 in the 300 block of Hungerford Drive. 700 block of Grandin Avenue—A 17-year-old male was arrested on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia on April 25, between 7:04 and 8:55 p.m.   Incidents 100 block of Bullard Circle—A microwave, refrigerator and a stove were taken from a house under construction, between 3 p.m. April 5 and 7 a.m. April 8.  1600 block of…

Rockville City Police: $20,000 Communication Device Stolen, Assault Arrest Made

Arrests 1900 block of Veirs Mill Road—a 55-year-old male was arrested on charges of trespassing on April 16 at 9:05 a.m. 700 block of Rockville Pike—a 37-year-old male was arrested on charges of trespassing on April 18 at 11:21 a.m. 1800 block of Piccard Drive—A 29-year-old male was arrested on charges of second-degree assault on a police officer and obstructing and hindering a police investigation on April 22 at 12:25 a.m. for an incident at the parking lot of King Farm dog park.   Incidents Unit block of Monroe Street—A laptop was removed from a table in a conference room at an office, between 9 a.m. April 5 and 1 p.m., April 8. 700 block of Rockville Pike—Police said a male snatched the necklace off an alleged male victim walking on a …

Arrests 600 block of Hungerford Drive: A 58-year-old man was arrested for shoplifting on Thursday, Feb. 21 between 12:40 p.m. and 12:50 p.m. Unit block of Monroe Street: A 63-year-old man was arrested for trespassing, disorderly intoxication and two outstanding arrest warrants on Friday, Feb. 22 between 3:00 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. The first warrant was through the Takoma Park Police for failing to appear on a trespassing charge and the other through the Hyattsville Police for failing to appear on a theft charge. 700 block of First Street: A 39-year-old man was arrested for second-degree assault on …

Greater Rockville Crime Summary: Armed Robbery, Burglary and Thefts

The following information was provided by the Montgomery County police department. Arrests do not imply conviction.

An armed robbery occurred at the intersection of Nebel Street and Old GeorgetownRoad in North Bethesda on Friday, Feb. 15 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Three suspects threatened the victim with a handgun and obtained property. The suspects were described as black males between the ages of 20 and 25. The suspect that carried the handgun has a reported height between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9, and a reported weight of 170 to 200 pounds. An attempted robbery occurred in the 12500 block of Village Square Terrace in North Bethesda on Friday, Feb. 15 at 8:45 a.m. The two teen suspects assaulted the victim, but were unsuccessful when they attempted to remove any property.
