Patch Readers Ask: Drawing the Line on Park Road
A Patch reader's question gets a quick answer from the City of Rockville.
Lee Anne Blank asked. The City of Rockville listened. The result: A record time for turnaround on a Rockville Patch “Readers Ask” question. Overnight, Lee Anne posted this on Rockville Patch’s Facebook page: “Anyone know who to contact to try and get the lane lines and turn arrows put back on Park Road where it meets MD 355 by Rockville Metro? It is really dangerous and I see people go straight in the right turn only lane almost every day.” Rockville Patch sent an email to the City of Rockville at 11:22 on Wednesday morning. Precisely an hour later Patch received this email response from Emad Elshafei, chief of the traffic and transportation division with the city’s Department of Public Works: Wonder “what’s up with” something around town…

Lane lines are only a small part of the issue at this intersection. The greater problem is inattentive drivers ignoring the overhead sign clearly marking the right lane as right turn only.   more ›
