O'Malley: India Trip Netted Md. $60M

Rockville company, Montgomery College ink deals.

Gov. Martin O'Malley on Monday highlighted some of the results from his six-day trade mission to India, which resulted in nearly $60 million in business deals for the state. Montgomery County companies were among the deals.  "Rockville-based Sheladia Associates, an engineering, architecture and development company, will provide design and project management services valued at $3.7 million for upgrading India’s National Highway 215 to a four-lane facility in the State of Orissa," according to a press release. Leggett to Join State Leaders on Mission to India

The county executive will try to attract Indian biotechnology companies to Montgomery County.

County Executive Isiah Leggett will pitch Montgomery County as the place for biotechnology when he accompanies a Maryland delegation to India on a six-day trade mission beginning Saturday. “The objective here is to try to make certain, in this global, competitive arena, that people understand what Maryland has to offer and what Montgomery County has to offer,” Leggett (D) said in a telephone interview on Wednesday.
