VIDEO: Rockville Holds Solemn Ceremony on Flag Day

City officials joined the Elks and the American Legion for the ceremony at Rockville Town Square.

The City of Rockville on Tuesday hosted a Flag Day ceremony that honored the history of the American flag and recognized members of the armed forces. Mayor Phyllis Marcuccio read a proclamation declaring June 14, 2011 as Flag Day in Rockville. The ceremony, at Rockville Town Square Plaza, also included an acknowledgement of Americans who are prisoners of war or missing in action. The American Legion Post 86 Color Guard presented the colors and the Washington-Rockville Elks Lodge No. 15 delivered a presentation on the evolution of the flag.
