The Evolution of Date Night

Date night takes on a new look when you’re married with kids, but that doesn’t lessen its importance.

My husband and I met on a blind date.  Set up by his mother.  Only about three weeks after I moved to Maryland, way back when he and I were first-year teachers, only months out of college. We met. And fell in love. And we dated and dated and dated.  And that first date—that whole first year of dates—was something vastly different than our dates now, our dates as a couple married nine years with three kids and a dog. And a house in the suburbs. And a minivan.
