Police said a person near North Bethesda was swindled out of a substantial amount of money in a fraud scheme reported May 3, 2013 in the 12000 block of Rockville Pike. Police said a male and a female claimed they found some money and offered to split it with the alleged victim. But they asked the person to put up some money in order to prove “trustworthy—then made off with the person’s contribution, police said. A police spokeswoman was unable to disclose how much money was involved. Description: Police said the male was black, between 50 and 60 years old, with a salt-and pepper hair, a mustache and a beard.
