Crime Summary: North Bethesda Swindlers Sought, Aspen Hill Armed Robbery Reported

The following incident information was provided by Montgomery County Police. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Police said a person near North Bethesda was swindled out of a substantial amount of money in a fraud scheme reported May 3, 2013 in the 12000 block of Rockville Pike. Police said a male and a female claimed they found some money and offered to split it with the alleged victim. But they asked the person to put up some money in order to prove “trustworthy—then made off with the person’s contribution, police said. A police spokeswoman was unable to disclose how much money was involved. Description: Police said the male was black, between 50 and 60 years old, with a salt-and pepper hair, a mustache and a beard. The woman was a black female between 25 and 35 years old, weighing 130 pounds and was wearing a ponytail, a sleeveless shirt and tan …

A robbery was reported at The Holiday Inn, 1775 Rockville Pike, Rockville on Saturday, April 13, at 4 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. A residential burglary was reported in the 1400 block of Gladstone Drive, Rockville on Thursday, April 11 between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Unknown means of entry. Property taken. Multiple thefts from vehicles were reported in this Rockville beat: A residential garage burglary was reported in the 300 block of Lincoln Avenue, Rockville, between Friday, April 12 and Monday, April 15. Rockville City Police: $20,000 Communication Device Stolen, Assault Arrest Made

Montgomery County Police: Armed Robbery Reported at Holiday Inn

The following crime data was supplied by Montgomery County Police. Arrests do not indicate conviction.

An armed robbery was reported at the Holiday Inn Express, 1775 Rockville Pike, Rockville on Friday, March 5 at 3 a.m. A residential burglary was reported in the 4100 block of Heathfield Road, Rockville on Monday, March 18 at 2:40 p.m. Unknown means of entry. Unknown property taken. A residential burglary was reported on Friday, March 8 in the 11900 block of Parklawn Place, Rockville, between 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Forced entry. Property taken. Multiple thefts from vehicles were reported in the parking lot of Verizon, 12277 Wilkins Ave., Rockville between Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16. At least four vans were broken into and had property removed.

Montgomery County Police: Vehicle Theft, Burgled Offices Reported

Two incidents were reported at the parking garage at 198 Halpine Road, Rockville: A residential burglary was reported in the 12200 block of Wilkins Avenue, Rockville on Tuesday, Feb. 5 at 11:22 a.m.  Unknown entry.  Property taken.  Three thefts from vehicles were reported in the parking lot of Timpano Restaurant, 12021 Rockville Pike, Rockville, between 6 and 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31.  Entry was forced on all three vehicles and loose items left inside were taken, such as a GPS and computer bags.  A theft from a vehicle was reported in the 900 block of Twin Oaks Drive, Rockville, between 11 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1 and 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2.
