Red Line Single Tracks Downtown This Weekend

Trains will operate on a Saturday schedule (with off-peak fares) on Columbus Day.

Track work will continue in downtown Washington, DC, this weekend on the Red Line, starting at 10 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5, and continuing through closing on Monday, Oct. 8. "Red Line trains will single track between Judiciary Square and Fort Totten to allow for track maintenance, tie and fastener renewal, and platform reconstruction," Metro reported on its website. "As a result, trains between Glenmont and Shady Grove will operate every 26 minutes throughout the weekend. Between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, additional trains will operate between Shady Grove and Judiciary Square only, resulting in service about every 13 minutes between those stations," Metro added.
