Two Charged in Armed Carjacking in Rockville

Police say the suspects were foiled by an inability to drive 'stick.'

  Two men have been arrested in connection with a Sunday night armed carjacking in Rockville's College Gardens neighborhood. Jose Maria Deduque, 20, of the 8500 block of Victory Lane in Potomac, and Kwajo Oteng-Agipong, 21, of Washington, DC, have been charged with armed carjacking, conspiracy to commit armed carjacking and motor vehicle theft after police say they threatened a food delivery worker and attempted to steal his car. A food delivery driver and his passenger were making a delivery stop in the 1600 block of Yale Place in Rockville around 8:50 p.m. Sunday, according to a Montgomery County police report.  As the driver returned to his vehicle, two suspects demanded the car at gunpoint, police said. Montgomery County 1st District Officers Host Community Forum

MCPD will be on hand to answer questions about the future 1st District station move from Rockville to Gaithersburg.

Montgomery County police from the 1st District today will host a community forum answering questions about the station’s move to the new Public Safety Headquarters in Gaithersburg. First District officers covering the Rockville and Potomac areas will be on hand from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Ivymount School in Potomac for a panel discussion about the move, which will join the 1st District station with the larger Montgomery County Police Department headquarters in Gaithersburg. The 1st District is located on Seven Locks Road in Rockville, and was scheduled to move to the Gaithersburg location this summer.
