Jewish Youth Philanthropy Institute focuses on developing youth philanthropy and civic engagement through theMore principles of tzedakah (charitable acts) and tikkun olam (repairing the world). The goal is to help teens connect these principles with the impact of charitable giving and community service. 

This hands-on approach for 8th to 12th graders centers on philanthropy training program and service learning opportunities. This includes a week long Summer Service Learning Camp every August.

The JYPI is a part of the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning.

Goldman Art Gallery

The Goldman Art Gallery exhibits focus on the Jewish experience, identity and culture. Appraisals are offered by theMore gallery for a fee of $8 per item, payable by check only. The money goes to the gallery. An appointment is required.

The gallery accepts donated work. The work is displayed and later sold in the "Treasures from My Attic" annual art sale. The proceeds benefit the gallery and educational programing. Recent shows include: The Synagogue: Architecture, Art and Appeal; I Will Wake the Dawn: Illuminated Psalms; and The Coat of Many Colors: A Quest for Jewish Togetherness.

The gallery is located inside the Jewish Community Center of Greater Washington.

Kol Shalom
10301 Grosvenor Pl, Rockville, MD 20852
Kol Shalom is a large congregation that has been around for eight years. The congregation will be moving to a new homeMore on Darnestown Road in the fall of 2011, but for now it has Friday night services at 10301 Grosvenor Place and Saturday morning services at the Jewish Community Center on Montrose Road. Kol Shalom also has a schooling program for children grades 6 and above.
