The students are organized in multi-age groups with the classroom arranged in subject areas. The children can freely move about to learn math, language, science, social studies, art, music and computers. Spanish classes are offered twice a week. 

The curriculum puts the children in one of three groups: the Twos for two-year-olds, the Primary Program for ages three to six, and the Lower Elementary Program for ages six-to-nine. Classes have 25 to 30 children with one Montessori certified teacher and two skilled assistants who stay with the same class for multiple years. Toddler classes have 12 children. 

Older children are required to wear uniforms.

Summer school is offered in July.

The school is a nonprofit organization approved by the Maryland State Board of Education with membership with the International Montessori Council (IMC) and North American Montessori Teachers Association (NAMTA).

American Dance Institute

The ADI theater series started in 2004 with a 140-seat performance space.  Individual artists and companies presents shows as part of the Arts Incubator Program.

ADI is a nonprofit educational organization founded in 2000. It started with $2 million to transform an empty 20,000-square-feet warehouse in the  North Congressional Plaza Shopping Center. Financial aid, merit scholarships and work study assistance are available through the Future Artists Fund. Special events can be hosted at ADI.
