Cheated. That's how I feel. My wife went for a dental checkup. She chose to get her wisdom teeth extracted. Her insurance was checked by the doctor's office and my wife was given an estimate of 20%. My wife paid the 20% and got her wisdom teeth extracted. We get a statement now for rest of the 80%. Doctor's office states that it was just an estimate, and that insurance company doesn't provide whether or not it was covered, and that they only tell if the patient is insured. Who's fault is it? It's either Doctor's offices or Insurances. It's Doctor's office who is the incharge here. They just didn't tell the whole truth. Now, they say insurance company only tells patient whether they are covered or not for certain procedure. I wonder how many patients are getting fooled this way.
