·      Description:  A festival to celebrate Indonesian culture. Crafts, food and more.

Montgomery Village Foundation: Fall Flea Market

·      Where:  20125 Arrowhead Road, North Creek Community Center Parking Lot.

·      When:  Saturday, Sept. 7, 8 a.m.

·      Description:  The Montgomery Village Foundation, Department of Recreation, Parks and Culture will hold its annual Fall Flea Market.  To round out a fun-filled, shop-’til-you-drop day, Girl Scout Troops will be selling hot dogs, coffee and other refreshments.   

·      Cost:  Free

CLAPS Chinese Language and Culture School Opens

·      Where:  Chinese Culture & Community Center, 9366 Gaither Road, Gaithersburg

·      When:  Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m.

·      Description:  Chinese culture and language learning for ages 2 to 18 and adults. Every Saturday Morning beginning 9/7 to 12/21/13 (15 weeks)

Vulture Enrichment

·      Where:  Meadowside Nature Center, 5100 Meadowside Ln., Rockville

·      When:  Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m.

·      Description:  Animal lovers are invited to watch Meadowside’s resident vulture play with her food at our weekly vulture enrichment session. This activity meets at the Raptor Walkway behind the Nature Center. No registration required and programs are free, but please call in advance if you’d like to bring a group. 

·      Cost: Free

KidServe Food Drive Event benefitting Gaithersburg & Germantown

·      Where:  Whole Foods Market Kentlands (316 Kentlands Blvd Gaithersburg, MD)

·      When:  Sunday, Sept. 8, 2 p.m.

·      Description:  This food drive benefits Gaithersburg and Germantown 
HELP.  Help collect food, help sort it and learn how to organize your own food drive. Most needed items:  canned fruits, cereal, instant potatoes, boxed rice mixes, pasta, spaghetti sauce with meat, canned beef stew, canned chicken, tuna, peanut butter, kidney beans and black beans, tomato products, large paper grocery bags.

·      Cost:  Free

Potomac River Heritage Kayak Trip

·      Where:  Black Hill Visitor Center, 20926 Lake Ridge Dr., Boyds

·      When:  Saturday, Sept. 7, 8 a.m.

·      Description:  3-4 hour kayaking trip for intermediate kayakers.

·      Cost:  $65

Montgomery Parks End of Summer Pooch Party!

·      Where:  South Germantown Recreational Park, Splash Playground

·      When:  Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m. 

·      Description:  Dog owners are invited to bring their well-behaved pooches and let them splash off-leash while you catch some end-of-summer rays and meet other dog owners. Rain date: Sunday, September 8.

Clarksburg Premium Outlets at Cabin Branch Open House

·      Where:  Cedarbrook Community Church, 23700 Stringtown Road, Clarksburg

·      When:  Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m.

·      Description:  Clarksburg Premium Outlets at Cabin Branch will bring upscale outlet shopping right to Clarksburg. Hear the latest about plans for Cabin Branch. Chat with experts about traffic, environment, and outlet center design.

·      Cost: Free

Pack Smart Sack Lunches for Manna (SSL Hours for Kids)

·      Where:  Whole Foods Market, 316 Kentlands Blvd Gaithersburg

·      When:  Saturday, Sept. 7, 10 a.m. 

·      Description:  Volunteers are invited to help pack Smart Sacks bags with 
Manna Food Center for kids who do not have enough food over the weekends during the school year.  SSL hours available for kids.

            Havana Nights!

·      Where:  DoubleTree By Hilton Bethesda - 8120 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda

·      When:  Friday, Sept. 6, 7 p.m.

·      Description:  Havana nights event ticket includes: 2 complimentary drink tickets, Cuban food stations, Live DJ and dance floor, Rooftop poolside cigar lounge, and more.

            The Great Zucchini Takes Kensington!

·      Where:  FNDTN Gallery and Liveroom 3762 Howard Avenue in Kensington

·      Description:  Back to school show perfect for kids.

·      Cost:  $5

            Glen Echo Fire Department's Bingo in the Park

·      Where:  Spanish Ballroom at Glen Echo Park, 7300 MacArthur Blvd, Glen Echo

·      When:  Friday, Sept. 6, 7 p.m.

·      Description:  The Glen Echo Fire Department will be having their annual family-friendly fundraising Bingo and Silent Auction.

·      Cost:  Free parking, no admission charge, but there is a suggested donation of $3 for bingo cards, and additional contributions are welcomed.

            Polka Dots & Pinstripes Dance Party

·      Where:  Dance Bethesda

·      When:  Friday, Sept. 6, 8 p.m.

·      Description:  Polka Dots and Pinstripes themed 1st Fridays Themed party.  Dress up and dance the night away at Dance Bethesda.

·      Cost: $18
