Get caught up with the food scene in Montgomery County and adjacent Washington, DC, neighborhoods with Patch’s foodie news column, 1 Meat, 3 Sides. This week, the opening of a Bethesda birreria takes center plate.

One meat:

Italian beer garden La Piazza opened Thursday in the outdoor patio space of Cesco Osteria (7401 Woodmont Ave., at the corner of Woodmont Avenue and Montgomery Lane). The beer garden—or birreria—features local beers, Italian bites and furnishings made out of recycled materials, Bethesda-Chevy Chase Patch reported.

Three sides:

Luke's Lobster, which has locations in Bethesda and downtown Washington, DC, as well as elsewhere in the country, now offers a gluten-free roll, so that those with gluten sensitivity can have a lobster roll and eat it, too. Because of the higher cost of the gluten-free bread rolls, though, the gluten-free lobster rolls will cost an extra $2 each, Washingtonian reported.
