County Libraries Launch Summer Reading Program

Reading lists and summer programs are available for youth throughout the county.

Summer’s here and with it comes plenty of time for kids to pick up a good book.

Montgomery County Public Libraries launched its summer reading program this week, providing reading lists and summer activities for youth around the county. Families can sign up for the program and log the number of books they read by visiting the library system's Web site. Those who read five or more books this summer will be able to print out a certificate of their accomplishment.

Reading lists, specified for each age and grade level, are available on the library system's Web site. This year’s themes are “Read to Me” for kids through preschool, “Dream Big” for children in kindergarten through sixth grade and "Own the Night" for teenagers.
