Dodgeball and Donations for Diabetes
'Dance Party Vietnam' took home the top prize at the charity tournament in Rockville on Sunday.
A Baltimore team named "Dance Party Vietnam" claimed top place at the Sixth Annual Dodging Diabetes Charity Dodgeball Tournament in Rockville on Sunday. The team also won in 2008.
Team member Phylicia Kavanaugh, 23, said this was the third or fourth time the group had entered this competition. And she's not surprised that they won—it's been a year since this team has lost any tournament they've entered. They practice twice a week.
Proceeds from the tournament are donated to the Joslin Diabetes Center. According to the tournament Web site, the competition has raised more than $60,000 since it began in 2005.
