Women's League for Conservative Judaism--Seaboard Region Annual Conference

The annual conference for the Seaboard Region of the Women’s League for Conservative Judaism (SWLCJ) will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Shaare Tefila Congregation in Olney, Maryland. The conference, titled “Sisterhood 2012 — Out of the Box: TAKE, CREATE, AND MAKE IT YOURS!!,” offers participants from area Conservative synagogue Sisterhood chapters the opportunity to learn new and cutting-edge ways to handle programming, fundraising, communications, and outreach issues.

According to Conference Chair Ellen Kaner Bresnick, participants will gain a better understanding of their Sisterhood’s particular needs, and will leave the conference with a personalized action plan that includes concrete suggestions for making each Sisterhood user-friendly, innovative, accessible and inclusive — while still retaining the individual congregations’ Sisterhood “brand.”  Sisterhood presidents will have a chance to consult with each other as well as with Women’s League Consultant, Renee Brezniak Glazier and Current Women’s League for Conservative Judaism’s International President, Rita Wertlieb.

Sessions include such topics as; Taking Stock of Ourselves as Jewish Women Today; Taking Stock of Ourselves as a Sisterhood; Reach Out and Touch Someone — Communications Tools and Techniques; Innovative Fundraising 2012; Inventive Programming; Managing Your Sisterhood and Facing Reality; and more. The conference will run from 8:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. and includes buffet lunch and a light dinner. Open to all Sisterhood members of area synagogues. Cost: $65/registrant. The day-long event takes place at Shaare Tefila Congregation, 16620 Georgia Avenue, Olney, Maryland. To register go to: http://tinyurl.com/WLCJSeaboard2012
