The Rockville Sister City Corporation Seeks Members

People interested in cultural exchanges may join the Rockville Sister City program by visiting www.rockvillesistercities.org.

Rockville has been a sister city with Pinneberg, Germany since October 1957. In the last 26 years RSCC and the City of Rockville have received many Pinneberg visitors and found generous Rockville families to host foreign quests.

The mission of the Rockville Sister City Corporation (RSCC) is to foster and promote the exchange of information between people of different cultural and ethnic origins, especially among the youth, both in greater Rockville and in our Sister Cities, through exchanges involving personal contact between people, resulting in greater appreciation, respect, tolerance and understanding of our differences, thereby leading to more peaceful relations and friendship among diverse communities, both domestic and foreign.

In 2013 three Pinneberg groups will visit Rockville.  In June Rockville will welcome a group of students from the Tanzschule Leseberg, who hosted Rockville's Finest performing troupe last year in Pinneberg.  In September a student group from the Gemeinschaftsschule will visit Wootton High School.  Also in October, Pinneberg will present a photo exhibit in the Rockville Senior Center. The newly elected (November 2012) Mayor of Pinneberg, Bürgermeisterin Urte Steinberg, will accompany the group for the exhibit opening.
