Rockville Sister City's Invitation to Visit 8 China Cities including Rockville's Friendship City, Jiaxing, September 5-18.

To demonstrate that Rockville continues to be interested in becoming an official sister city with Jiaxing, Zhejiang, China, a second trip to China is planned for this September.  In conjunction with the 2008 Friendship Agreement between Rockville and Jiaxing the Rockville Sister City Corporation (RSCC) has announced a special tour for citizens of Rockville to visit Jiaxing (its Friendship City), Hangzhou, Suzhou, Shanghai, Guilin, Yangshuo, Xian, and Beijing.  An extension to the trip can also be arranged for the Yangtze River Tour Cruise.

The China trip is organized by RSCC's corporate sponsoring partner, China Travel Service DC and includes transportation, lodging and meals.  Only 20 persons will be accepted for participation and nine openings are still available.  The cost and itinerary is posted on the RSCC website at www.rockvillesitercities.org.

Rockville entered a Friendship Agreement in 2008. Since then two delegations from Jiaxing have visited Rockville.  In July of 2010 a Rockville sister city group visited Jiaxing and in November of 2012 three Rockville representatives attended the Jiaxing International Sister City Mayor's Summit in Jiaxing.  The summit brought together leaders from eight countries for four days of exchanges on the topics of historical and cultural preservations and urban development.
