InterContinental Woos ‘Wellness-Minded’ to Rockville
New hotel slated for Rockville Pike promises a 'holistic' experience at a 'mainstream' price point.
A new hotel hopes to attract the “wellness-minded” to Rockville Pike, InterContinental Hotels Group, announced Tuesday.
Part of the EVEN Hotels brand, a 167-room hotel room is to open at 1775 Rockville Pike in 2014, the InterContinental official said in a news release.
The company is converting a space once occupied by Holiday Inn Express, The Gazette reports.

The Rockville site and another location in Norwalk, CT will be among the first openings for EVEN, a company news release states. The brand launched in 2012.
The hotels promised a “holistic” experience, a three-zone gym and space for group fitness classes at a “mainstream price point,” according to a news release.

A spokeswoman told The Gazette that room rates had not been set but said they would be competitive with brands such as Hilton and Courtyard by Marriott.
