Wootton’s State Champion Golf, Soccer Teams Honored by County Council

Teams will be presented proclamations at the start of the Montgomery County Council meeting Tuesday.

Wootton High School can soon add two county proclamations to its trophy case.

The Patriots' state champion soccer and golf teams will receive proclamations from the Montgomery County Council on Tuesday.

Councilman Phil Andrews, D-Gaithersburg, is expected to present the honor at the start of the meeting.

Wootton golfers won the state title on Oct. 24, with a score of 603, beating Urbana by 23. The soccer team became state champs after defeating Perry Hall, 3-1, at Richard Montgomery High School on Nov. 10.
