VIDEO: Rockville Holds Solemn Ceremony on Flag Day

City officials joined the Elks and the American Legion for the ceremony at Rockville Town Square.

The City of Rockville on Tuesday hosted a Flag Day ceremony that honored the history of the American flag and recognized members of the armed forces.

Mayor Phyllis Marcuccio read a proclamation declaring June 14, 2011 as Flag Day in Rockville. The ceremony, at , also included an acknowledgement of Americans who are prisoners of war or missing in action.

The American Legion Post 86 Color Guard presented the colors and the Washington-Rockville Elks Lodge No. 15 delivered a presentation on the evolution of the flag.
