Rockville Scholars: Xavier Zientarski

Xavier Zientarski was awarded a $1,000 college grant from the Rockville Scholarship Foundation, Inc. and Montgomery College, where he is a music major.

Zientarski says he hopes to use his talents to help people broaden their outlook on the world. He plans to become a classical guitar teacher, performer and composer. He believes that music is an imperative form of communication that can help people understand one another, express themselves and expand their knowledge about different cultures.

Zientarski has volunteered as a guitar teacher at the Sitar Art Center in Washington, DC and supported the Latin American Youth Center Art + Media House while also working in gardening and at a local Montessori school.
