Rockville Says Farewell To Mayor Marcuccio

Monday night Rockville Mayor Phyllis Marcuccio completed her second term—marking the end of service in public office.

Marcuccio announced her her plans to retire earlier this year and is throwing her support behind Councilwoman Bridget Donnell Newton, who's running for mayor in the city's upcoming election.

Marcuccio has been a Rockville resident for more than 50 years. She served two terms as a councilwoman prior to being elected mayor.

On Monday, the city honored Marcucio and Councilman John Hall Jr., who's also not seeking re-election, prior to the council’s regular Monday night meeting.

Rockville 11 produced this video as a tribute to Marcuccio.
