Road Work Ahead: Weekend Construction Plans

A look at weekend road construction in the area.


Before you hit the road this weekend, check these planned construction areas by the State Highway Administration.

All work is weather permitting.

Montgomery County

 • Southbound MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) between Bradley Lane and E. Melrose Street – Roadway Patching – Two right lanes blocked from 7 p.m. Friday until noon Sunday.
• Outer loop of I-495 (Capital Beltway) over the I-270 Spur – Routine bridge inspection - Double lane closures Saturday on the outer loop I-495 from 4:30 a.m. until 9 a.m. Single lane closures will occur from 9 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Inspection crews will also initiate brief 15 minute closures on the I-270 Spur to shift equipment.
• MD 191 (Bradley Lane) from West Avenue to MD 185 (Connecticut Avenue) – Resurfacing - Single and double lane closures Sundays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. until 5 p.m.
• MD 650 (New Hampshire Avenue) at Sligo Creek ParkwayBridge deck rehabilitation – Single and double lane closures Monday through Friday between 5 a.m. and 3 p.m., as well as overnight Sunday through Saturday from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m.
• MD 355 (Rockville Pike/Wisconsin Avenue) from MD 191 (Bradley Lane/Bradley Boulevard) to MD 187 (Old Georgetown Road) - Traffic signal utility conduit work – Single and double lane closures from 10 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday.
• Georgia Avenue between MD 390 (16th Street) and the Washington D.C. Line – Roadway grinding and patching – Single and double lane closures from 9 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday.
