Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot will make a special appearance as a volunteer at Gaithersburg's on Tuesday to honor the memory of those who lost their lives in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
Franchot's visit also kicks off his "Economic Listening Tour," according to a news release. As part of the tour, the comptroller will hear from Manna's staff and discuss the impact of the economic downturn on the services they provide. He will be joined Tuesday by Minerva Delgado, executive director of Manna Food Center, along with state and local elected officials.
Franchot (D) will tour the state to hear directly from businesses, organizations and individuals about economic conditions.
