Students Set to Meet With Montgomery County Council

The fourth annual student town hall meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 9.

If the young adults in Montgomery County are anything like their parents, next month's meeting of the County Council with teens in the area will be pretty packed.

On Wednesday, Oct. 9, the council will convene its fourth-annual town hall meeting for students.

“The students who have attended the previous youth town hall meetings have told us that they were excited to be at the council hearing room and have a chance to talk directly to the councilmembers,” said Council President Nancy Navarro (D-Dist 4).  “But this meeting is about much more than just the experience. We make many decisions over the course of a year that have immediate or long-term impact on the young people in our county."

Students have opportunities to engage with county leaders through the Youth Advisory Committees, which are operated out of the county's regional centers.

This year's town hall will start with a pre-meeting at 6:30 p.m. before the meeting at 7 p.m. at 100 Maryland Ave. in Rockville at the County Council Office Building in the third floor hearing room.

Students can RSVP at 240-777-7931.
