County to Hold Hearing on Pepco Reliability

The county's Pepco Work Group is investigating service outages

Montgomery County's Pepco Work Group will hold a public hearing on Jan. 5 to hear from county residents' thoughts on the utility's service reliability.

Customers will have the chance to share their experience with Pepco outages, as well as their overall satisfaction with service, according to a county news release.

The hearing will take place at 6:30 p.m.  at the Stella B. Werner Council Office Building at 100 Maryland Avenue, in Rockville.

The work group, established in October by County Executive Isiah Leggett, is currently investigating complaints regarding Pepco service outages.

Leggett (D) will share the group's recommendations with Pepco and with the Maryland Public Service Commission, which regulates public utilities.

Fifty members of the general public will have the opportunity to speak for three minutes each. Speaking spots will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis.  Speakers must pre-register by calling 240-777-3764.

Residents can also email written comments by Jan. 6 to the Montgomery County Office of Consumer Protection at ConsumerProtection@montgomerycountymd.gov. Include "Pepco Comment" in the subject line.
