New Year's Closures

Most city and county facilities will be closed for New Year's Day on Saturday.

All City of Rockville facilities will be closed and no programs will operate on New Year's Day.

Many city facilities and programs will operate on a limited schedule on Friday.

The following facilities will be closed on Friday:

• City Hall
• Rockville Senior Center
• The Glenview Mansion Art Gallery
• The Climbing Wall
•  The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre Box Office will be closed through Jan. 3. It will reopen at 2 p.m. on Jan. 4.

Other city facilities will be open with limited hours:

• Lincoln Park Community Center open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday.
• Thomas Farm Community Center open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday and on Jan. 2.
• Twinbrook Community Center open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Friday and on Jan. 2.
• Rockville Swim and Fitness Center open 6 a.m.-4 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. — 9 p.m. on Sunday.
• RedGate Municipal Golf Course will operate under winter hours with the first tee time at 9 a.m. on Friday. It will be closed on Saturday.
• Croydon Creek Nature Center open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Friday.

Recycling and refuse collection will not be affected.

Parking will be free at city-owned meters and garages from Friday through Sunday.

County facilities will operate on the following schedule:

• Montgomery County government offices closed Friday.
• County libraries closed Friday and Saturday.
• County liquor stores open until 7 p.m. on Friday; closed Saturday and Sunday.
• State offices and courts closed.
• Shady Grove Processing Facility and Transfer Station closes at 5 p.m. on Friday and reopens for regular hours on Sunday. (Administrative offices will be closed Friday-Sunday.)

Other county, state and regional facilities and services are running on modified schedules:

• Ride On: Sunday schedule for Friday, with service ending at 10 p.m. Regular Saturday schedule for New Year's Day.
• Metrobus: Sunday schedule for Friday and Saturday.
• Metrorail: Special Sunday service with 3 a.m. closing on Friday and Saturday.

TRiPS Commuter Stores near Silver Spring and Friendship Heights Metro stations closed on Friday and Saturday.

County schools and Montgomery County Public School administrative offices will be closed Friday. School resumes Monday.

County recycling and refuse collection will not be affected.

Parking will be free at county public garages, lots and curbside meters on Friday and Saturday.
