Vandalism Causes $5K in Damage to Rockville Businesses

Police are asking the public to help identify suspects in several cases of vandalism to Rockville businesses.

Police are investigating multiple incidents of vandalism to Businesses and parked cars in the 11700 block of Parklawn Drive in Rockville have been damaged by rocks hurled at them and graffiti, say police.

Montgomery County investigators have released video and photographs of a suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying him.

The vandalism spree began in mid-March and continued through early May. The National Alliance on Mental Illness of Montgomery County, located at 11718 Parklawn Drive in Rockville, has been the victim of about seven incidents of vandalism, with rocks were thrown through the office's glass doors and windows.

Multiple incidents of graffiti have been reported on nearby buildings and vehicles.

These acts of vandalism have cost the targeted businesses more than $5,000, police said.

Surveillance cameras captured a suspect spray-painting a business in the area on April 13 at about 1 a.m. Detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying this suspect. Investigators believe there may be additional suspects, because cameras captured four people walking in a group in the area on that night.
