Teens Charged with Assault and Robbery

Police: Cash and phone taken in incident near the Rockville Skate Park.

Two teens were arrested and charged with robbery and assault on Thursday in connection with a Dec. 26 incident at the Rockville Skate Park, according to a City of Rockville news release.

Rosa Randall, 19 of the 500 block of Elmcroft Boulevard, and an unnamed 16-year-old were charged with one count each of robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, theft and second-degree assault, the release said.

Rockville police received a call about 6 p.m. on Dec. 26. A girl said she had been robbed while visiting friends at the skate park at 355 Martins Lane.

The victim, a juvenile, said that two suspects assaulted her, took her cash and phone, and fled on foot, the release said. The victim helped police identify the suspects, leading to an arrest warrant for Randall.

Randall and the juvenile suspect were arrested without incident. Randall was taken to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit and later released on bond.

The 16-year-old was released to a parent, the release said.

A preliminary hearing for Randall is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Feb. 3 in Montgomery County District Court.
