Stolen Engines, an Assault, Thefts and Burglaries in Rockville City Police Reports

Arrests and incidents through Jan. 27, according to Rockville city police.

The following is compiled from crime summaries provided by the Rockville City Police Department. Arrests do not imply guilt. 


700 block of Rockville Pike: A 48-year-old man was arrested for second-degree assault at 9:01 a.m. on Jan. 19.

A 35-year-old man was arrested Jan. 11 for four counts of second-degree burglary, four counts of malicious destruction of property and two counts of theft in connection with four earlier incidents that occurred between Jan. 8 and Jan. 11 at the:

  • 800 block of Hungerford Drive (two businesses).
  • 200 block of Park Road.
  • 2100 block of Veirs Mill Road.

600 block of Hungerford Drive: A 38-year-old man was arrested at 4 p.m. Jan. 23 for being a fugitive from justice with an outstanding warrant through the Fauquier County (VA) Sheriff’s Office.

100 block of First Street: A 29-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled dangerous substance—marijuana and possession with intent to a controlled dangerous substance—marijuana between 9:50 and 9:56 p.m. Jan. 24.


1000 block of First Street: An unknown subject or subjects attempted to gain entry by prying rear and side doors at a business between 11:30 p.m. Jan. 17 and 3:30 a.m. Jan. 18. No entry was made.

300 block of Martins Lane: A complainant stated an unknown subject removed a cell phone and a wallet containing credit cards, a driver’s license, and U.S. currency from a locked locker at a recreational facility between 4 and 4:30 p.m. Jan. 19.

2800 block of Balmoral Drive: An unknown subject gained access by kicking in a basement door at a residence between 8 a.m. Jan. 20 and 8 p.m. Jan. 23. Once inside, the unknown subject removed jewelry.

Unit block of Dawson Avenue: An unknown subject removed Chinese currency from an apartment between 8 a.m. Jan. 20 and 10 p.m. Jan. 23.

400 block of North Horners Lane: The complainant stated that an unknown subject or subjects removed a rear windshield from his vehicle between 5 p.m. Jan. 21 and 6 p.m. Jan. 22.

800 block of Rockville Pike: The complainant stated that an unknown subject removed her purse containing a wallet, U.S. currency, credit cards, a cell phone and a driver’s license from her vehicle between 1:15 and 2:30 p.m. Jan. 24. 

2000 block of Veirs Mill Road: The complainant stated she inadvertently left her cell phone on a counter at a business at 5:33 p.m. Jan. 24. When she returned to the business, the phone was gone.

Suspect description: Male, 20 to 24 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches, 170 to 180 pounds, with very short black hair and a medium build. Last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a black/red jacket.

3200 block of Tower Oaks Boulevard: The complainant stated that an unknown subject removed her wallet containing credit and bank cards, a driver’s license and U.S. currency, from her unattended purse in an office between noon and 5 p.m. Jan. 25.

100 block of North Stonestreet Avenue: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed two vehicle engines, a vehicle transfer case, and a vehicle shift transmission from a business at 11 a.m. Jan. 27.

Suspect description: Male, with a heavy build.

Suspect vehicle description: A red Ford F-150 XLT three-door pickup truck.

500 block of Bradford Drive: The complainant reported that an unknown subject removed a laptop, a recipe book, a GPS unit, a vehicle stereo and prescription medication from a vehicle between 3:45 and 11:59 p.m. Jan. 27.
