Purse Snatchers Use Stun Gun on Rockville Woman

The woman was attacked as she unlocked the door to her building on Monroe Street.

Two men used an electroshock weapon on a 28-year-old woman and stole her purse as she tried to unlock the door of the building where she lives on Monroe Street in Rockville early Wednesday morning, city police said.

Rockville City Police received a call about the assault just before 12:30 a.m., according to a news release.

The woman, who received minor burns to her neck and chest, was treated at the scene by Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services, the release said.

Both suspects are described as black, about 20 years old, standing 5 feet 4 inches tall, with thin builds, the release said.

One of the suspects was described as having short hair in cornrows and a goatee and wearing a dark-colored T-shirt and jean shorts, according to the release. The second suspect was described as having short hair and wearing a white tank top, the release said.

The vehicle they were driving is described as a dark blue or gray, newer model four-door sedan, the release said.
