Police: Rockville Teacher Accused of Molesting Students

Timothy Vincent Krupica, a fifth grade teacher at Meadow Hall Elementary School, has been charged with sex abuse.

Sex abuse charges were filed against a Rockville elementary school teacher, police reported Thursday, stemming from allegations that he molested two female students.

Timothy Vincent Krupica, 30, of Frederick, MD, was arrested Thursday. He was charged with sexually abusing a minor and several sex-offense charges, according to court records accessed online. A bail review hearing was set for 1 p.m. Friday.

Krupica is a fifth grade teacher at Meadow Hall Elementary School in Rockville, school officials confirmed. Krupica has worked at the school since 2009.

Police said the reported abuse occurred between September 2012 and February 2013.  Two 11-year-old girls claimed they were forced to touch the teacher inappropriately inside a classroom, according to Montgomery County Police Officer Janelle Smith, a spokeswoman.

The girls’ allegations were brought to school staff on Wednesday, Montgomery County Public Schools spokesman Dana Tofig told Patch.

“Our administration immediately notified police and child protective services to investigate,” Tofig said.

Tofig said Krupica has been placed on administrative leave with pay in accordance with MCPS policy.

This is not the first time a teacher at Meadow Hall has been arrested for alleged crimes involving children.

In February 2012, a special education teacher at Meadow Hall pleaded guilty of two counts of sexually soliciting a minor, according to online court records. Police said Jeremy Earle Brown II solicited undercover detectives who were posing as 14-year-old girls in online chat rooms, Patch reported.

I find it bizarre that this principal has hired 3 teachers who have been charged with child abuse.

If found guilty, cut it off. Problem solved on that end. How do people, especially teachers, really think u can force an adolescent child into touching u inappropriatly & their not gonna tell someone? It was probably on Facebook within 30sec

Mr. Krupica is completely innocent of these allegations. The charges were fabricated by two girls who were already in trouble at school for bullying so their retaliation was to report false actocity's against their teacher. Get the facts and don't let the media crucify him. It's innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around. The truth will come out....

I've known Mr Krupica as one of the best teachers both my sons ever had at Dranesville Elementary in Fairfax County. Additionaly I've played basketball with him in parent-teacher games. He is very popular among students and deservedly so. A great credit to quality teaching, concern and enthusiasm - particularly regarding his interest in the space program that he passes along to students. Though very popular he was also strong on discipline for the students. I don't know anything about this situation but I find it extremely difficult to believe the charges are true. I would think it much more likely that these students were getting back at him for tough discipline. Either way this is a bad situation and I feel terrible about it and feel for him and for the children involved in the incident (if true) and for all of his students regardless.

There are allegations that the accusers have been also accused themsleves of bullying. Unfortunately it is guilty untill proven innocent in our school system.

I have known Tim Krupica for over 10 years and I know this is not something he would do. He was always a great friend and now he needs those friends to stand by him while this investigation goes on to prove his innocence. I have not talked to Tim for sometime but actions like these aren't ones you just begin one day. Tim I want you to know I support you and hope your innocence is proven and you are able to do what you love to do. Teach and help people. Good luck old friend!

If it is discovered that these 'victims' fabricated their story to get back at this teacher for disciplining them, their parents should be sued, and this teacher should be made whole.

"not something that he would do".
