Rockville City Police: More Thefts at Church; Burglars Nab Cigars, Cell Phones

Arrests

200 block of Congressional Lane—A 19-year-old man was arrested for theft 2 a.m. Aug. 20.

2000 block of Veirs Mill Road—A 43-year-old man was arrested for obstructing and hindering a police investigation, making false statements to a police officer, consuming an alcoholic beverage at a retail establishment, possession of an open container at a retail establishment, intoxicated in public place, and trespassing at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 21.

14900 block of Shady Grove Road—A 16-year-old boy was arrested for theft 2:30 p.m. Aug. 22.

Incidents

100 block of West Montgomery Avenue—Cash, a laptop, cell phone, a projector and two microphones were taken from a church an unsecured door Aug. 18, between 1:15 and 1:46 p.m.

2400 block of Wootton Parkway—An HVAC recovery machine and miscellaneous hand tools were taken from a work vehicle Aug. 19, between 9 and 11:46 a.m.

2100 block and 2200 block of Veirs Mill Road—A cell phone, several cell phone cases, cash, a laptop and cigars were taken from two businesses accessed by smashing the front glass doors. Police said the incident happened Aug. 21, at around 1:30 a.m. Police are looking for three males and offered the following description: 

• A Hispanic male in his early 20s, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 150 to 170 pounds, with long black curly hair. The male was last seen weraing a mask covering nose/mouth, black long-sleeve hooded shirt with white stripes and white markings across the center of the front, camouflage shorts, red and black sneakers with red shoe laces, and white calf-length socks. 
• A Hispanic male in his early 20s, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 150 to 170 pounds. He was last seen in a black long-sleeve sweater with a large red star on the front, gray skull hat, black low-top Nike sneakers, white calf-length socks, and black shorts with a straight line and two chevron stripes on both sides.           
• A Hispanic male in his, early 20s, about 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 150 to 170 pounds. He was last seen in a black long-sleeve hooded shirt with white diagonal stripes from the neck across to the shoulder blades, white gloves, white low-top sneakers, calf-length black socks.

300 block of Watkins Circle—A GPS and loose change were taken from a vehicle on Aug. 22, between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m.

5700 block of Fishers Lane— A cash dispenser was taken from a business at around 4:30 p.m. Aug. 23. Police are looking for:

A 20-year-old black male, 5-feet, 11-inches tall at 180 pounds, with brown eyes, black dreadlocks/twists, a beard, and dark skin tone. The male was last seen in a white polo-style shirt with black stripes, carrying a black backpack.

600 block of Goldsborough Drive—Copper pipes were taken via an unlocked window of a residence undergoing renovations. Police said the incident happened sometime between 4 p.m. Aug. 22 and 12:30 p.m. Aug. 24.
