Rockville City Police: Man Arrested for Impersonating Firefighter, Copper Thefts, More

The following incident information was provided by Rockville City Police. Arrests do not imply guilt.

Arrests

First Street and Maple Avenue—A 25-year-old man was arrested for impersonating a firefighter, which was discovered during traffic violation investigation at around 8 a.m. March 20.

14500 block of Avery Road—A 15-year-old male was arrested for disrupting school operations and obstructing and hindering a police investigation at 10:45 a.m. March 20.

Leland Street and Maryland Avenue— A 29-year-old man was arrested for possession of a concealed weapon (machete), possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia on March 20 at 2 a.m.

Incidents

Unit block and 100 block of West Montgomery Avenue—Copper piping was removed from the outside of two historic building between midnight March 6 and 9:30 a.m. March 13.

Unit block of Maryland Avenue—A laptop was taken from an open unattended backpack at the library on March 14, between 3 and 3:30 p.m.

100 block of Evans Street—A rear window of a residence was broken into on March 17 between 9:15 a.m. and 3 p.m.  Nothing taken.

205 Jersey Lane—A wallet, cash and credit cards were taken from an unlocked vehicle on March 18, between 1:30 and 6 p.m.

100 block of Fallsgrove Boulevard—A pair of golf shoes, a basketball, and a golf bag containing golf clubs were taken from an unlocked vehicle, between 6:30 a.m. March 11 and 2:30 p.m. March 19.

1500 block of Rockville Pike—Several computer accessories were taken from a business on March 20, between 3:07 and 3:21 p.m.  Police are looking for a white male who is  5’10” at 180 pounds. Police said the man had short brown hair, was balding in the back of his head, and limps on his left leg. The man was last seen wearing brown shoes, tan pants and a black jacket. Police said he left in a silver 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer, with Virginia registration plates.

12920 Twinbrook Parkway— An unattended cell phone was taken while the owner was playing basketball at a recreational facility on March 21, between 12:45 and 1 p.m.

800 block of Rockville Pike—Two cell phone covers, were taken on March 21 between 11:35 a.m. and 11:45 a.m. Police are looking for a white female, with blond hair and light skin tone lat seen wearing grey UGG boots, black leggings or tights, black sunglasses, and a black jacket. 

1200 block of West Montgomery Avenue—A cell phone was taken from a hotel room on March 21, between 8 a.m. and 11:05 p.m.

100 block of Halpine Road—Jewelry, perfume, assorted cosmetics, clothing, a curling iron, a hair dryers, a portable iron, luggage, and prescription medications were taken from a vehicle on March 22, between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.
