Rockville City Police: Coin Jar, Sneaker Robber Sought

The following incidents were supplied by Rockville City Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Five men were arrested after reports of stolen items and property damage at a gym and library at the Residences at Congressional Apartments in the 100 block of Halpine Road on July 11. An 18-year-old, 19-year-old, two 20-year-olds and a 22-year-old were charged with second-degree burglary, theft, malicious destruction of property and trespassing.

Unit block of West Montgomery Avenue—A 22-year-old man was arrested at around 8:30 a.m. Sept. 16 for an open Montgomery County Police. In addition to the warrant, the man was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and cocaine.

A 24-year-old man was arrested Sept. 10 on second-degree burglary charges, following an earlier incident that reported 4 a.m. June 16 in the 1200 block of Rockville Pike.

North Stonestreet Avenue and Crabb Avenue—A 21-year-old man was arrested at around noon Sept. 17 on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and marijuana.

1200 block of Veirs Mill Road—A 49-year-old man was arrested at around 12:45 a.m. Sept. 18 on charges of violating a protection order.

200 block of Richard Montgomery Drive—A 16-year-old boy was arrested on charges of posessing of a deadly weapon (knife) on school property on Sept. 17, between 9:20 and 9:35 a.m.

1300 block of Crawford Drive—A 17-year-old boy was arrested 6 p.m. Sept. 20 on charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, marijuana possession, possession of controlled substance packing material with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said an 18-year-old male was also arrested on charges of possessing of a concealed weapon (knife) and marijuana.

700 block of Beall Avenue—A 22-year-old man was arrested for heroin possession Sept. 20, between 10:40 and 11:30 p.m.

 

Incidents

700 block Rockville Pike—An unattended cell phone was taken from a store counter Sept. 13, between 11 and 11:15 a.m.

900 block of Paulsboro Drive— Chinese currency, jewelry, an iPad, a cell phone charger and a video game console were taken from a residence on Sept. 17, between 2:30 and 2:45 p.m. The residence was accessed through an unlocked basement door.

300 block of Calvin Lane—Police said someone tried to kick in a rear door of a residence at around 4:30 a.m. Sept. 19, but the noise woke up the occupants who yelled at the person. Police said the person ran from the rear deck. No entry was made into the residence.

12300 block of Twinbrook Parkway—A purse was taken from an office Sept. 19, between 1 and 7:30 p.m.

Unit block of Maryland Avenue—An unattended iPod was taken from a library at 1:40 p.m. Sept. 19.

100 block of East Montgomery Avenue—A purse was taken from a movie theater at around 5:30 p.m. Sept. 20. 

2300 block of Veirs Mill Road—A person checking on a strange noise found a stranger in a residence. Police said when confronted, the stranger took a jar of coins and a pair of sneakers. The residence was accessed through a rear basement door on Sept. 22, sometime between 4:05 and 4:15 p.m. Police are looking for a male with a fair skin tone and a medium build, who is 5 feet 10 inches tall and 160 pounds. The male was last seen wearing a gray T-shirt and blue cut-off jeans.
