Rockville City Police: Bizarre Break-in on Baylor Ave., Vehicle-Related Thefts Reported, More

The following incidents were supplied by Rockville City police. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Arrests

Wootton Parkway and Fleet Street—A 34-year-old man was arrested for possession of oxycodone and lorazepam Nov. 16, between 7 and 7:30 p.m.

On Nov. 16, a 19-year-old man was arrested for one count of attempted burglary and two counts of malicious destruction of property following two incidents that occurred Nov. 7, between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the 5900 block of Vandegrift Avenue.

On Nov. 18—A 17-year-old was charged with first degree burglary and theft following an earlier incident that occurred Oct. 2 in the 1400 block of Aintree Drive

200 block of Rockville Pike—A 27-year-old man was arrested for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine at around 4 p.m. Nov. 20.  During the processing, the subject was served a warrant for armed robbery, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment, for an earlier incident that occurred on Nov. 17 in the 700 block of First Street.

Unit block of Maryland Avenue—A 23-year-old man was arrested for trespassing at around 5:30 p.m. Nov. 21.

700 block of Rockville Pike—A 38-year-old man was arrested for trespassing on Nov. 21 at 8:51 p.m.

Unit block of Dodge Street—A 21-year-old man was arrested for possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and conspiracy to distribute marijuana at around 4 p.m. Nov. 22.  A 19-year-old man was also arrested for conspiracy to distribute marijuana and making a false statement to a police officer.

100 block of Gibbs Street—A 28-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct on 1:44 a.m. Nov. 23.

 

Incidents

100 block of First Street—A box with three watches was taken from a vehicle on Nov. 6, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

1000 block of Crawford Drive—A ring was stolen from a residence some time between 5:55 p.m. Nov. 15 and 5:55 p.m. Nov. 19.

600 block of Denham Road—A tin can of loose change was taken from a residence, accessed through a forced-open rear door, sometime between 2 p.m. Nov. 20 and 3 p.m. Nov. 21.

2000 block of Veirs Mill Road—A laptop was taken from an unlocked vehicle Nov. 20, between 7:50 and 8:40 p.m.

500 block of Blandford Street—A female was walking home when a male approached her. The female walked past the stranger holder her cell phone, but the stranger followed her. At on point, the male grabbed the cell phone and headed toward Monroe Street. Police described the stranger as a 16-year-old black male who is 5-feet, 5-inches tall at 140 pounds with a thin build and medium skin tone. Police said the male was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, tan Timberland boots, a black skullcap and blue jeans.

800 block of Hurley Avenue—A bag of loose change and batting tokens was taken from a vehicle inside an unlocked garage Nov. 22, between 6 and 9 p.m.

Unit block of Barrington Fare—A cell phone was taken from an unlocked vehicle Nov. 22, between 7 and 9:30 p.m.

500 block of Pinewood Road—Two jackets and a backpack were taken from vehicle Nov. 22, between 9 and 10 p.m.

5700 block of Crawford Drive—Two purses, a wallet, a camera and a make-up bag were taken from an unlocked vehicle on Nov. 22, between 10:45 and 11:30 p.m.

1500 block of Baylor Avenue—At around 3 a.m. Nov. 23, police received a call that a stranger was knocking on the front door of a residence. Police responded but didn’t see any one. But at 5:15 p.m., the police were contacted again after the caller discovered a garage door and the door leading from the garage to the house had been pried open.  Nothing was reported missing.
