Rockville City Police: $20,000 Communication Device Stolen, Assault Arrest Made

The information for the following incidents was supplied by Rockville City Police. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Arrests

1900 block of Veirs Mill Road—a 55-year-old male was arrested on charges of trespassing on April 16 at 9:05 a.m.

700 block of Rockville Pike—a 37-year-old male was arrested on charges of trespassing on April 18 at 11:21 a.m.

1800 block of Piccard Drive—A 29-year-old male was arrested on charges of second-degree assault on a police officer and obstructing and hindering a police investigation on April 22 at 12:25 a.m. for an incident at the parking lot of King Farm dog park.

Incidents

Unit block of Monroe Street—A laptop was removed from a table in a conference room at an office, between 9 a.m. April 5 and 1 p.m., April 8.

700 block of Rockville Pike—Police said a male snatched the necklace off an alleged male victim walking on a pathway on April 10, between 11:20 and 11:30 a.m. Police described the suspected chain snatcher as a black male in his 20s with a tattoo on his forearms, last seen wearing a white T-shirt, black jeans.

1000 block of Taft Street—Police said a $20,000 high-speed, fiber optic communication device was stolen from a locked telephone room at a multiuse office building, between 1:30 and 8 a.m. on April 11.

1400 block of Gladstone Drive—A basement door of a residence was broken into on April 11, between 8 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Money and prescription medicine was reported missing.

300 block of Lincoln Avenue—Four tires, rims and a window air conditioning unit were reported missing from a detached garage, whose padlock was broken between 9 p.m., April 12, and 8:30 p.m., April 15. 

300 block of Linthicum Street—A GPS and a cell phone charger was taken from a vehicle between 9 p.m., April 13, and 7 a.m., April 14.

16000 block of Shady Grove Road—A black workbag was removed from one vehicle and a socket tool set was removed from an unlocked toolbox located in another vehicle between 10:30 p.m., April 13, and 9:25 a.m., April 14.

1100 block of Seven Locks Road—A wallet was reported missing from a locked locker at a fitness center on April 16, between 6:30 and 8 p.m.

1200 block of Edmonston Drive—The glass on a rear door was broken at a residence April 18 between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.  Nothing was taken.

1100 block of Bettstrail Way—Glass was shattered on a rear basement door to a residence April 18, between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Nothing was taken.

2200 block of Veirs Mill Road—Police said a male who entered a business and reportedly put items into his backpack pushed an employee and left the store when approached at 8 p.m., April 18.

The man is described as a male of unknown race in his 50s, with light skin and long gray hair. The man was last seen in a blue jacket with a New York Giants logo on the back, a dark blue hat, and a green backpack.

1700 block of Rockville Pike—A briefcase and work ID card were taken from a vehicle between 9 p.m., April 19 and 10 a.m., April 20.

Unit block of Maryland Avenue—An unattended backpack, jacket and laptop were taken from a library table at 3:45 p.m., April 20.

800 block of Baltimore Road—An unattended cell phone was taken from restaurant counter around midnight April 21.
