Report: Bus Driver in 12-Vehicle Crash Cited For Speeding

Bus driver was en route to pick up senior citizens, NBC Washington reports.

The Ride-On bus driver involved in a 12-vehicle crash near Rockville Pike on Monday has been cited with failure to reduce speed to avoid a collision, NBC Washington reports.

The driver, Walter Eugene Pardy, 58, was reportedly on his way to pick up senior citizens.  There were no passengers on the bus, the TV station reports.

Citing observers' accounts, WUSA9 reported Monday that the bus driver "plowed" through cars stopped at the intersection of Nicholson Lane and Rockville Pike.

Minor injuries were reported from the crash, Patch has reported.
