POLL: Do You Feel Safer?

Crime is down in Rockville, according to a new police report.

 

Crime within the Rockville city limits between July and September dropped 2 percent compared to the same period in 2010, according to city police statistics, The Gazette reported Wednesday.

Among the decrease from 1,366 offenses to 1,338 offenses, The Gazette reported that the following crimes decreased:

  • Rape.
  • Robbery.
  • Larceny.

There were increases in burglaries (from 66 to 67) and auto thefts (from 14 to 24), The Gazette reported.

Chief Terrance N. Treschuk credited cooperation between police agencies and community partnerships.
