Police: Woman Robbed in Rockville Parking Garage

Police released a sketch of a suspect in a strong-arm robbery at Grosvenor House.

Montgomery County police are looking for the person who robbed a woman in a residential parking garage in Rockville last week, Montgomery County police said in a news release Friday.

Police released a computer-generated sketch of the robber with hopes it could lead to an arrest.

The incident happened around 10:15 p.m. July 21 at the Grosvenor House apartment building parking garage, police said.

A woman parked her car and was walking toward a stairwell when a male grabbed her from behind and forcibly removed her purse, the release said.

The woman followed the robber on foot and told police that he left the scene in a black vehicle with a Maryland license plate.

The robber is described as a black male in his early 40s, 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a round face, heavy build and a medium to dark complexion. Police said the robber had very short black hair, a mustache and longer unshaven hair on his chin.

The victim said that at the time of the incident, the robber wore a short-sleeved red T-shirt, dark shorts, white gym socks that reached mid-calf, sneakers and a white towel around his neck.
