Police Search for Suspects Who Cashed $10K in Bad Checks

Police: Suspects created counterfeit checks drawn on business accounts.

Montgomery County police this week released surveillance photos of two people they say created and cashed counterfeit business checks totaling more than $10,000 over six days in June.

A police investigation found the suspects illegally obtained business account information, which they then used to create the counterfeit checks, according to a county police news release. They later cashed the fraudulent checks at banks in Montgomery County and the Washington metropolitan area between June 6 and June 11, police said.
