Police: No New Leads in Aspen Hill Pickpocket Case

$800 charged to victim's stolen credit cards in less than two hours, according to Montgomery County police.

Hoping to revive a months’ old case, Montgomery County police are trying to find the person who stole a woman’s wallet in Aspen Hill and used her credit cards for drug store purchases.

On Thursday, police released surveillance photos of a person they said was connected to an October pickpocketing incident at Layhill Shopping Center in Aspen Hill.

On Oct. 20, a woman told police her wallet was taken from her purse while she ate at  Sole D'Italia Restaurant, Police said.

In 90 minutes, $800 worth of purchases were made on the victim's credit cards at local CVS Pharmacy stores in Aspen Hill and Rockville, according to police.

In light of the case, police are reminding women to place their purses on their laps or between their feet and to keep them fastened shut and in within eyesight.
