Police Investigate Armed Robbery of Gas Station

Police: One suspect pulled a handgun on an employee of the station near Norbeck Road.

County police are searching for suspects in an armed robbery of a gas station on Sunday night in the Norbeck area of Rockville.

Fourth Distrct officers responded about 9:16 p.m. to the Mobil at 15450 Georgia Avenue, according to a county police news release. Until recently, the station, near the intersection with Norbeck Road, was .

According to a preliminary investigation, a gas station employee was closing for the night about 9:10 p.m. Two suspects approached as he exited the store. One suspect displayed a handgun and ordered the employee to the back of the store.

The suspects demanded money before fleeing on foot towards Norbeck Road with an undisclosed amount of cash, the release said.

The first suspect is described as a black male, age 20 to 25, standing about 6 feet tall, with a heavy build. He was wearing black clothes and a black baseball cap. The second suspect is described as a black male, age 20 to 25, standing about 6 feet 2 inches, with a thin build. He also was wearing dark clothing, the release said.
